Founder’s Thoughts of the Week: 100% Grit, Zero Plastic

Founder’s Thoughts of the Week: 100% Grit, Zero Plastic

This week, I hit a milestone that may not mean much to some, but to me? It says everything about how I move through the world:

1,326 deliveries. 2 years. 100% customer satisfaction.

Yep—alongside building I Am Hot Honey, I’ve been Ubering my way through cash flow and commitment. Why? Because when you’re building a business from the ashes, you do what it takes.

And that’s what this week has been about—commitment at 100%. Not to perfection, but to progress. To purpose. To disruption.

The pandemic stripped a lot of us down. For me, it meant the loss of everything I’d built. But when your back hits the wall, you don’t just sit in silence hoping the world will accept you again. You stand up and build something bolder. Louder. Hotter. Something true.

The Manuka honey industry has spent years sitting quietly in a bubble—relying on old labels, outdated science, plastic packaging, and fear-based marketing. Well, guess what? That bubble’s bursting.

And I’m not just watching—I’m the one holding the pin.

It fascinates me how many are sitting on tonnes of stock, emailing me daily to offload jars, but can’t seem to find the guts to innovate, invest, or shake the industry up. Instead, they watch while I Uber through my city, prepping eco jars that grow bee gardens, signing a 12-month RangeMe pro contract, welcoming machinery for production, and locking in my first investment + full distribution across Hong Kong and China.

That’s right—Hot Honey is going global.

This week, I also finished proofreading up to Chapter 80 of my memoir. A raw, unfiltered diary of building and losing everything, the characters, the chaos, and the beautiful madness of entrepreneurship. It’s almost ready to launch.

And because it’s not all spreadsheets and logistics, I’m filming my first personal video today for social. AI’s been my copilot, but it’s time to show the world the face behind the flame—dancing in my kitchen, turning up the heat, and bringing Hot Honey to life.

The newsletter is written—I just haven’t figured out how to send it yet. But it’s coming.

Because every day, without fail, I show up.

I am 100%. I am here. I am Hot Honey.

And if you’re building something that matters? You are too.

Let’s go.

Repeat after me… I AM HOT HONEY.
